Elina
Cello


Elina studied cello performance at the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv and has received her B.M and M.M. degrees from The Mannes College of Music in New York City. Originally from Helsinki, Finland, she has performed with the Helsinki, Israel Philharmonic, and Jerusalem Symphony Orchestras. Elina is an active chamber music performer in New York and is the former principal cellist of The Herzilya Chamber Orchestra in Israel where she also won the orchestra's solo artist competition. She currently performs with several orchestra's as an active free-lance cellist in the NY metropolitan area including performing frequently in the cello section of the American Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Leon Bottstein. She has performed as an on call substitute for several Broadway shows including "West Side Story, and currently, for "The Lion King". She is a cello teacher on the faculty of a school in Newark NJ.   Elina enjoys cooking, walks with her dog "Lady" and time spent with her 2 sons and husband Jeff, who is the Associate Principal French Horn player of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
